Citrix Bandwidth analysis

 

In the recent past, We noticed that many users are complaining about latency and the overall quality. We are thinking the bandwidth could be an issue. What is the best way to analyze the Citrix Bandwidth?

The best way to do this is to get the Audio Bandwidth metric onto the User Experience Dashboard as an additional metric.  There are couple of necessary steps that will accomplish this.   Here are the steps:Navigate to the Admin menu and select “Settings->Monitor"On the left panel, select “Configured Measures”Then, at the top right, click on “Add New Measure”From here, select the User Type. This corresponds to what type of connections are showing in the dashboard. For example, XenApp, or Horizon VDI, or Nutanix VDI. Select Test Table and then select test= "Citrix Users in Session", measure= "Audio bandwidth output"UpdateNavigate back to the Citrix/VDI User Experience Dashboard and click on the More Options icon on the top right: From here, check the box next to the Audio Bandwidth metrics you want to see. Then update. You can drag and drop the metric to rearrange the metrics from inside this "More Options" window.


 For Virtual Apps connections, navigate to the server layer view inside eG. There is a layer called “Citrix Users”. From there, look at each user under “Citrix Users in Session”.For Virtual Desktops, navigate to the host, then the layer “Inside View of Desktops” From there, look in “Desktop’s HDX Channel”.Inside the metrics pane on the right, there will be breakdowns of the HDX or Citrix channel.  It shows what type of data is using the most bandwidth so you can determine if it is caused by PrinterAudioDrivesFlash and others.

This is helpful, and we were actually able to find that audio was consuming lot of bandwidth for many users. Is there a way to see the audio bandwidth for all my Citrix users on one screen?
